Yoon Joohee(윤주희) is the first and current director general of the ISH(Intelligence Security Headquarters). Yoon Joohee had great success in suppressing the November incident before she was appointed director of the ISH. She is also the youngest current head of government agencies.
Early life
Yoon Joohee was born in Seoul and completed her studies there. Her school years are known to have been smooth, and her outstanding academic performance helped her enter Seungmookwan.
Career
Yoon Joohee received four years of military training at Seungmookwan and was commissioned as a major. Yoon Joohee's first work place was the Capital Defense Command, and she served there until becoming a colonel.
Yoon Joohee became the commander of The 201st Quick Response Division after being promoted to Brigadier General. After that, Yoon Joohee was appointed to the Ministry of Defense's Foreign Cooperation Department and served as the Joseon ambassador for the International Coalition of Nations(ICON). Although it is quite unusual for active-duty military personnel to be dispatched as ambassadors for international organizations, the government at the time judged that Yoon Joohee was a person with sufficient expertise. In fact, Yoon Joohee completed her international relations studies at Seungmookwan and published several papers related to international relations.
After serving as Joseon's ambassador at ICON, Yoon Joohee was promoted to Major General and appointed commander of the Defense Intelligence Command(DIC). When Yoon Joohee was serving as commander of the DIC, the 'November Incident' occurred, and as commander of the DIC, she grasped information related to the attempted coup and responded to it. After the coup was suppressed, Yoon Joohee, along with Jeong Tae-Shin, was rated as the person who contributed the most to suppress the coup.
In March 2024, Yoon Joohee was appointed by Prime Minister Park Yohan as the first director of the ISH, and after being discharged from the military as a lieutenant general, he was appointed director of the ISH.
Personal Life
Compared to her illustrious career, Yoon Joohee's personality is known to be introverted. She enjoys staying home on holidays and does not enjoy meeting people privately other than close acquaintances.
