The Military of Kyras (Iziduns: Gworr y Kiras), also known as the YSK, are the armed forces responsible for the defense, border security, and cyber security of the Commonwealth and its overseas territories in all aspects of warfare. Consisting of six service branches, it comprises the Kyrasi Ground Force (including army-related aviation), the Kyrasi Navy (including naval aviation) and the Kyrasi Air Force, the Kyrasi Space Force, the Special Operations Force and the Cyber and Intelligence Force. Around 300,000 personnel serve in the YSK, with 284,000 being active and 280,000 being reserve. The YSK implements a policy of conscription at twenty to serve for a period of nineteen to twenty months. The current secretary of defense is Pamaf Al-Johani, who has been in office since 2026, while the Chief of Staff is Iwazo Amin, who has been in office since 2030.
The Military of Kyras traces back its roots to 1966, during the Hishmar War, when the PON, the organisation in power, invaded the neighbouring country of Hishmar on August 2, 1966. It was formed from the amalagmation of the Zeriwau, the Zesyifan, and the ZYP, paramilitary groups advocating against the PON's oppression, forming the Judicial Revolutionary Forces, simply known as the JDF. The JDF hijacked communications of the PON, blocked off military instillations, supported Hishmar, and bombed factories, severely prohibiting the PON's war plan. The PON were eventually overwhelmed by worldwide support for Hishmar and internal issues caused by the JDF and gave up, ending the war on September 6th, 1967. Their weakened and vulnerable state allowed the JDF to roll in to the government building and force the PON to disband and step down from power. Even though these concessions were met, the JDF, slightly controversial, shot all members of the PON anyway. With the help of the United States of Solitas, a new government was established and the JDF was transformed into its current state, the Military of Kyras.
