Damian Jaskulski was a former Malgravean politician and former member of the Chamber of Representatives who served as Chair of the Malgravean Socialist Party between 1965 and 1999.

Early life and career

Damian Jaskulski was born in Admah on the August 17th, as one of the first generation of citizens born within the recently established Malgravean state. In part due to the infancy of the country, and the prevelance of liberated Imerian slaves in the country Damian was taught not just Malgravean Ancient but also Imerian in an attempt to close the gap between the newly arrived population and those newly liberated from their previous ordeal.

Early records on Damian's childhood are limited, however, it has been reported that Damian's political beliefs stemmed from early discussions with recently liberated slaves and their description of the Imerian system. At the time of the exodus Damian was still in mandatory education, however, due to the crisis at the time he was able to join efforts to help evacuate civilians despite only being 15 at the time.

After completing his mandatory education started working for the Malgravean Road Haulage Corporation. While employed for the MRHC, Damian became increasingly involved in the Most Illustrious Glorious Confederation of Proud Malgravean Proletarians and their efforts to secure additional protections for haulers delivering products to remote and dangerous areas in the country. In 1950 Damian became a Regional Trade Union Leader within the MIGCPMP and his efforts to organise strikes across industries earned him the respect of a large number of workers across the country, and they were regarded as instrumental in securing pay increases for haulage workers operating routes to Pakosc.

In 1962 Damian was dismissed from the Malgravean Road Haulage Corporation and the MIGCPMP after a short internal review and found himself blacklisted from many areas of the economy. Shortly after Damian resigned from the Unity Party and joined the Socialist Party (Malgrave)

After reforms of the intelligence service ordered by Nadzieja Brzezicki it was revealed that the Special Investigative Service had put considerable pressure on the Road Haulage Corporation and the MIGCPMP to dismiss Damian from his position.

Chair of the Socialist Party

Just before the start of the 1965 Malgravean General Election Isabella Acardi announced her intention to resign as Chair of the Socialist Party to focus on her own personal life and health. Damian's experience with the trade union movement and his popularity within the country soon made him a front runner for the position and after a short internal vote he was elected Chair.

Between 1965 and 1999 the Socialist Party retained their position within the Chamber of Representatives, although, they also did not gain any additional representation even after the chamber was expanded. In recent years it has been reported that the Socialist Party was under the influence of a voter suppression campaign organised by the Special Investigative Service
