Some historians have argued that the true first king of the Helds was Mark Klossner I, given that he was the first to take a Heldic name, and founded Helderia. However, this is no longer the majority opinion. Historian Alfred Staf noted, for example, that "Mark was driven for blood and glory, ultimately not desiring a Heltervina proper." Likewise, Hans Prötz managed to centralize control, but subsequently lost his power of the region.

It was not until the late 1st century that one leader, Heltius, became the dominant leader in Heldic circles. Heltius was the lord of Helterium and used the title Lord of the Helds and Sears, but he never held control over modern Bordendofinia, which was known as the Searlaw. The title Lord of the Helds came into usage in 158 with the ascension of Vincentius Darus I. This remained the standard title until Lodovicius Clossus-Fræncius VII, who styled himself as King of the Helds. His son subsequently styled himself as King of Helderia.

This list of reigning lords of Helterium and kings and queens of Helderia begins with Heltius Fræncius Darus, who initially was a member of the Court of Emperors before being promoted as a petty noble. Heltius styled himself king of the Helds from about 84, and although he was not the first to claim his rule over all Helds, his reign marks the beginning of the first unbroken line of lords to rule all the Helds, the House of Darus.

Some historians have argued that the true first king of the Helds was Mark I, given that he was the first to take a Heldic name, and founded Helderia. However, this is no longer the majority opinion. Historian Alfred Staf noted, for example, that "Mark was driven for blood and glory, ultimately not desiring a Helterium proper." Likewise, Hans Prötz managed to centralize control, but subsequently lost his power of the region.

It was not until the late 1st century that one leader, Heltius, became the dominant leader in Heldic circles. Heltius was the lord of Helterium and used the title Lord of the Helds and Sears, but he never held control over modern Bordendofinia, which was known as the Searlaw. His son Cārolius the Elder attempted to secure a marriage between Harald Hardenanda and his daughter, Augustinum, but relations soured before the marriage occured. The title Lord of the Helds came into usage in 158 with the ascension of Vincentius Darus I. This remained the standard title until Lodovicius VII, who styled himself as King of the Helds. His son subsequently styled himself as King of Helderia; the kingdom itself was founded a decade after his death.
