When Mendoza term was over she ran in 2021 for Caapulas Mayor. She was doing comunity work for the city, planting trees and helping pick up litter in parks. She got the term from locals 'The Green Lady'. She struck a deal with Libertadismo to not run a canidate and relunctly they agreed only if she put [[Cristian Cano]] who was the supposed Libertadismo canidate into her adminstartion. She won easily by 61.4% being the first Green Party Mayor of a city above the 500,000 population mark. | |||
