The United Arken State (UAS), commonly known within the intergalactic community as The Arken Junta while locally known as The State is an interstellar state based in the Talin Galaxy, more specifically based and controlling the Arken system with the planet of Arken being designated as their capital planet.
It was officially founded on 2 BHT after a successful coup d’état against the civilian government of Arken at that time ending with the overthrowing Governor Reyas, it was known in Arken history books as 2 BHT revolution or “ Liberation Day”. The takeover was orchestrated by Admiral Viktor Karsson and his inner circle of Generals and Admiral within the Arken military; his actions have caught the civilian government off guard. Arken propaganda stated that Karsson and his inner circle did to save the planet from erupting into anarchy and talks of government being corruption and becoming tyrannical but from independent research it was speculated that it was actually a power grab as the old government was planning to weaken the military influence within the government.
Ever since the revolution and the foundation of UAS, the Arken state has become a deeply ultra-militaristic state with a "military first" policy. Propaganda runs rampant from songs praising the Military and leadership to a lot of anti-Galactic Union sentiment which is believed to have started from the idea of the Union “abandoned” or “forgotten” Arken after the fall of Iearth or one of the most infamous propaganda is the insinuation of Union cause the Ruins of Iearth, seeing Iearth as threat. Another big part of UAS propaganda is the idea of calling the Arken people the “True brothers and sisters of Iearth”, saying that not being under the influence of the Union and surviving against the odds. Propaganda is so rampant in Arken for generations that people of power in the junta are believing in the propaganda themselves which leads to problems of looking into Arken history as it is now debated on which is factual or false as Junta also known for “removing” or altering history records from centuries ago.
The Junta has been accused of numerous civil rights violations on its own people with free speech non-existing and the right of leaving the planet. There also have been accusations of underground slavery rings and state sponsored abductions of pilgrims that travelled to Ruins of Iearth. There have also been the speculations about Arken espionage with reports of undercover agents or sleeper cells being used by the Junta with reports of them being placed in different planets across the galaxy, they would be under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of state security and that informants are widely used within the state to report anyone that could be described as a “pest” to the junta.
The current leader of the Junta is High Admiral Erik Kane, he was elected to High Admiral on 3000 AHT by the High Council after the previous High Admiral died of old age
