 Belfras
The Federation of Belfras adopted the Obscura Pattern Camouflage (O-PAT) in 2025, following the lessons learned during the 2024 Third Belfro-Mutulese War. The war highlighted critical shortcomings in the digital camouflage patterns then in service, as the rigid and pixelated designs often failed to blend effectively in the varied terrains of Orun Redisus and Ayeli. The Federation’s armed forces demanded a more versatile and adaptable camouflage solution, leading to the development and rapid deployment of O-PAT.
During the war, Federation forces operated across a wide range of environments, from dense jungle regions and urban areas to mountainous terrains. The limitations of digital camouflage patterns became particularly apparent in transitioning between these zones, where their static designs provided little adaptability. The introduction of O-PAT resolved these issues by offering multiple variants tailored to specific environments, such as the O-PAT Woodland for forests and the O-PAT Snow for mountain regions. This flexibility proved invaluable during post-war stabilization efforts and military exercises.
The first operational deployment of O-PAT was with the Federation’s Rapid Reaction Force (RRF), which conducted combat operations in the Orun Redisus border regions. The O-PAT Foliage and Intermediate patterns were particularly praised for their effectiveness in concealing personnel and equipment in areas with mixed terrain. Troops reported a significant reduction in detection rates during reconnaissance missions, providing a tactical edge over opposing forces equipped with less advanced camouflage systems.
O-PAT also found widespread use in the Federation Navy, where its Urban variant was applied to boarding teams and special forces operating in littoral zones.
