Presidential elections were held in the Hansa Federation for the second time on March 1st 1958. Incumbent Recovery party president Adrian J Gower and his running mate incumbent Vice President Nena Glaasmeier were reelected defeating the newly formed Socialist Party of Hansa and their candidate John Piertz.
Gower who was known as the founder of the Hansa Federation and was massivley popular due to his rapid recovery of the nation from the Great War. The Socialist Party led by George Vernor suffered from a lack of a base and suffered from having the image of the Socialists be tainted by the recent Civil War in which the communist party of Hansa seceeded from the nation after the disaster of the 1946 Constitution. Unlike most other elections there was a strong independent candidate named Chalres Beltram. Beltram had his base in the former Wustiech Independence Party which had been ruled illegal under the 1956 court case Durent v Hansa Federation. Despite this Vernor ran as an independent candidate but failed to even win the state.
With the rapid recovery of the nation, a recovering economy, and status as a war hero, Adrian Gower was the heavy favorite to win reelection. Though he won by a large margin, Gower lost a lot of votes to the Socialist party and slight decrease in national turnout. Gower was especially popular in urban areas that had been heavily effected by the war as his programs were focused on these regions.
