The New Liberal Party of Tarper (NLP), or simply the Liberals, is a Liberal and Social Liberal party in Tarper.

The NLP was founded in 2004 by members of the former Democratic and Free Liberal Parties. It has operated outside of the parliament for most of its history within the Federal Republic. In the 2017 Tarperti federal election, the NLP managed to get elected into the Federal Assembly for the first time in its history, having surpassed the 5% requirement.

The NLP strongly supports human rights, civil liberties and internationalism. The party is traditionally considered centre-right. Since its inception, the party has firmly pushed economic liberalism and has aligned itself closely to the promotion of free markets and privatization. It is a member of Liberal International and the Covenant Liberal & Democratic Party (CLDP).

Party symbols

Colors

The NLP uses Yellow and Red as its official colors as a nod to liberal parties that preceded it, those being the Democratic Party of the Republic and the Free Liberal Party.

The NLP also makes use of the national shade of blue, known as Tarperti Blue, to represent itself during election coverage. The use of the blue is a nod to the Radical Party of Tarper. The use of Tarperti Blue for political purposes is heavily restricted by the Federal Electoral Commission and a party must first prove it has no far-right ties or ideas then apply for a permit to use the color.
