The Special Reconnaissance Wing (SRW) is a tier 1 special operations unit maintained by West Aurelia and is a major component of the Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Although part of the West Aurelian Army, SRW operatives are selected from all branches of the armed forces.
The SRW is responsible for a range of special and black operations including direct action, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, counter-insurgency, sabotage, intelligence collection, combat diving, VBSS operations, and combat search and rescue.
The SRW is regarded as a tier 1 special operations unit, alongside the Marine Corps' Special Activities Group (SAG).
