The Special Activities Group (SAG) is a tier 1 special operations unit maintained by West Aurelia and is a major component of the Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Although part of the West Aurelian Marine Corps, SAG operatives are selected from all branches of the armed forces.
SAG is responsible for a range of special and black operations including direct action, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, counter-insurgency, sabotage, intelligence collection, combat diving, VBSS operations, and combat search and rescue.
SAG is regarded as a tier 1 special operations unit, alongside the Army's Special Reconnaissance Wing (SRW).
