The Order of the seas (OS; Akai: [insert Akai here]), also known as the OND Navy, is the naval warfare branch of the Orders of National Defence, the armed wing of the National Regency Body and by default, the national armed force of the Dituate of Akai. The OS can trace its lineage to the Heavenly Navy of the Ditu and the Lazinatoese Grand Armada however it was formally established in 1923 with the unification of Akai. While historically a green-water navy, the OS has possessed the significant ability and reach, yet due to an internal crisis was rarely deployed until 1972. When the Tempesta War concluded, there was a strong doctrinal shift towards a far more asymmetric, aggressive, attrition orientated and submarine focused navy with a nearly complete rejection of their old big gun doctrine. However, by the 1980s, following the stabilisation of Akai and the start of the Akai economic miracle caused a shift towards a more forward-oriented foreign and security policy, the leaders of the Akai military were freed from their economic weakness and instead turned their attention towards the seas. This led to the development of the Order of the seas into a blue/green-water navy by 2002.
