About Us
Founding Era (1974-1980)
ShazAir was founded in 1974 by a group of elite businessmen. At the time it wasn't that easy to get registered as a corporation within the Empire. You needed to ensure that all the paperwork, of which there were more than 600 forms needing to be filled out due to outdated laws put forth by the old Parliament nearly 2 centuries earlier, before the Imperial Business Administration even thought about discussing your Articles of Incorporaiton. Within a years timeframe they were able to buy Ten BAC One-Eleven Douglas DC-9 TwinJets.
Before 1978, they had more than 10 flights per week between the Capital City and some of the outlaying cities and towns, with several "seasonal" flights to the summer destinations throughout the southern coasts of the Imperial Mainland. These flights became something of a norm in the coming years as the fleet expanded to include Five Boeing 727s. By 1980, the fleet had grown to nearly 25 aircraft and included more than 200 flights per month. The operational budget within the first six years of the corporation saw the budget increase from $2.3 Million in the first year of operation to nearly $6.7 Million with revenue go from $1.2 Million in the first year of operation to to over $15 Million. Making them one of the fastest growing corporations within the Empire in that timeframe.

Accidents and incidents
- On 4th of December, 1985: ShazAir Flight 2254 (a Boeing 747) made an emergency landing at Romeoville Civil Airfield after two of its engines caught fire during it's departure flight to an International Destination. The cause was determined to be a defect in the Pratt & Whitney Engines that was unreported to the airline. All Boeing Aircraft were taken out of service shortly thereafter for extensive maintenance. This caused hundreds of flights to be cancelled and more than B$800,000 in lost profits over the course of 4 weeks.
