The Commonwealth Defence Forces are the joint-service military forces of the Arthurista. Certain army units can trace their root back to the "New Model Regiments", raised by the Parliamentarians during the Constitution War. The Lord Protector is the CDF's nominal commander in chief, although this function is actually exercised by the Prime Minister. The Minister of Defence is responsible for its financing, supply and administration, while its professional head is the Chief of Defence Staff.
