The IPAT-100 (Infantería Portátil Anti Tanque) is an infantry portable, disposable anti-tank missile launcher developed and produced by Areiva of Temuair. The IPAT-100 features a sophisticated optical sighting system and ballistic computer which provides the weapon with an extremely high hit probability.
Design
The standard IPAT-100 utilizes a 100 mm high-explosive anti-tank warhead to defeat armored threats. In addition to anti-tank warheads, both high explosive fragmentation and high explosive dual purpose loads are available. The IPAT-100 can be fired from within confined spaces, such as bunkers or building interiors. Penetration estimates for the IPAT-100 are believed to exceed 480 mm of RHA.
The weapons computer-aided targeting system allows the operator to identify and targets at up to 2,000 meters utilizing an advanced night vision system as well as a laser rangefinder and ballistic computer. This system gives the IPAT-100 an extremely high hit probability against any target within its effective engagement range, with the optical sight and laser rangefinder providing accurate targeting data to the ballistic computer, which will in turn, calculate the targets projected location for the operator. These calculations are performed in less than a third of a second. The sight is capable of use independently from the launcher, as well.
Following the firing of the weapon, the weapons sighting system is detached from the spent ammunition tube, which is then discarded.
