He was a key ally of Julián Nápoles, undertook numerous successful campaigns during the Palian Revolutionary Wars, served three non-consecutive terms as President of the First and Second Palian Republics, and served as of President of the Occidental Confederation, and as Consul Ventana, from 1821 to 1826, and 1823, respectively.
