The 85th quintennial Saren presidential election was held on May 17, 2031. Incumbent President, Nick Stevens received the support of every major party except the National Unity Party and Greens, who consequently fielded candidates against him. As all Presidents by convention forego their party membership, Nick Stevens, formerly of the National Progressive Party, became an independent prior to inauguration day in July of 2026.

Re-elected by the widest margin in Saren history, President Nick Stevens will be sworn in for a second term on July 3, 2031.

Background

The Saren Constitution specifies that elections for the Presidency occur via national popular vote. The date for the election will be the second to last Saturday in May. Historically, Saren Presidents seeking a second term are unopposed, there are only three occasions of this not occurring, Marlon Terrilie's run for a second term in 1906 and Quintus Ravian's run for a second term, and the only time a Saren President has been defeated at the ballot box, in 1721.
