South Balisaland is a district in Rwizikuru, which as of the 2011 census is the sixth-most populous district in the country, with around 3 million inhabitants living in the district. It is home to the fifth-largest city of Rwizikuru, Nhiriri, which serves as the district seat. It is bordered to the west by the Dzakakwirira, to the northwest by Gutaguru, to the north by North Balisaland, to the east by the country of Garambura, to the southeast by the district of Chekumabvazuva, and to the south by Parunoguma.
