The 1957 Winter Olympics, commonly known as Melmingia 57, were an international multi-sport event held from 4th February to 18th February, in Melmingia, District of Melmingia, West Besmenia. It was the first Olympic Games on Besmenian ground and the only Olympic Games that took place in West Besmenia. In addition to its sporting importance, the 1957 Winter Games were particularly characterized by the fact that Schreim and the BNU used them to present West Besmenia positively international. East Besmenia had boycotted the event.
