As a nation with one of the largest Exclusive Economic Zones, the presence of a strong & superior navy has been one of the primary reasons why the CSDF Navy is given a near limitless funding to maintain its personnel and equipment. Aldia's proximity to the Myrian Canal means a large number of international maritime freight movement comes through the region and it is the responsibility of the CSDF Navy to ensure the waters in area are safe for vessels to travel through. Until recently, the last time the CSDF Navy operated an aircraft carrier was during the Third Voshan War. Since the end of the conflict and detente between Atmora & Aldia, Naval doctrine shifted dramatically with defense planners no longer seeing the need to maintain carriers in the absence of a looming existential threat to the Commonwealth. Attention was refocused to protecting the nations littoral zones rather than projecting force outwards. This however was changed with the development and commissioning of the Taifeng-class Landing Helicopter Dock for the CSDF Navy. | |||
