It is the largest city in Henria, and the second-largest city in Insulamia, with a population of 3,218,545 as of the last census in 2020. It was the de jure capital city of Insulamia from Federation until 2021, when this title was transferred to Whitecastle. However, as the transition process between the cities is still ongoing, Franclinton is still viewed as the de facto capital city of the nation, hosting most of the nation's diplomatic embassies and many federal government buildings. Franclinton is located in the shire of Franclintonshire, which is located in the south of Insulamia, on the coast of the Channel of Glass.
