Béla Edvárd was a Hetumogye philosopher, political theorist and journalist who was heavily involved in the development of Orthodox Republicanism and the overarching New Republican movement during the Second Political Odrodzenie. He contributed to the writing of the Testament of the States, which laid much of the foundation work for Orthodox Republicanism.
