Constantinoupoli (Greek: Κωνσταντινουπολις, romanized: Konstantinúpolis) is a city and comune (named Constantinoupoli Capital) in Romaia. Constantinoupoli is the capital of Romaia and Apollonia region. With 4.2 million residents it is also the country's largest and most populated municipalty. The Metropolitan City of Constantinoupoli has a population of 7 million residents. The city is located in the northern portion of Apollonian bassin on the coast of the Gulf of Constantinoupoli, part of the Pontus Novus sea, near the mouth of the Therma river.
Constantinoupoli is a major railway, highway, and air-transport hub served by two international airports: Constantinoupoli-Constantinos Forza Airport and Constantinoupoli-Livadia. Opened in 1955, the city's metro system, the Constantinoupoli Metro, serves 4.23 million passengers daily; Constantinoupoli-Chryseia Pyli is the busiest railway station in Romaia. Constantinoupoli is especially known for its museums, architectural landmarks and beaches: the National Arts Museum received 0.8 million visitors in 2021, despite the long museum closings caused by the COVID-19 virus. The Historic centre of the city is one of the best preserved in the world. Popular landmarks there include the Hagia Sophia cathedral on the Iera nysi. Other popular tourist sites include the Imperial Palace, Ancient and Medieval heritage of Ermou district, Agora, Amphitheatre and Baths.
