Many people identify more with their state than their country, often believing that the country is made up of many ethnic groups divided along state lines. These tend to all have unique features.

A non-comprehensive list of these:

A large percentage of those in Benen have some French ancestry, and are devoutly Catholic. On the other hand, Vontens, Vorts and Rerle share an identity based off Orthodox Christianity and somewhat isolated living. The Northern states of Sheirn and Rerle again are quite a bit colder than usual, and have unique bodies of mythology and habits related to that. Shanchar and Sheston have historically been perhaps the most powerful states, and nowadays tend to be relatively rich, liberal and developed. Fenr is known for its farming culture and rurality. People from Eihan tend to highly value nature, sustainability and the environment. Tiernmen is highly conservative and traditional, even to the point where most people (covertly or syncretically) still practice pre-Chrstian religions and rituals.
