A snap presidential election was held in BlakeIsHere on 5 May 2023, as part of the 2023 BlakeIsHere federal election.
Incumbent president Carlyle Descoteaux retired as president in early april due to health issues and old age, marking the end of the dominance of the Descoteaux family that started in 1938. While Socialist Party candidate Katherine Ashton defeated the other 2 candidates, both of extremist parties in the second round.
Procedure
The election was held through the two-round system.
Candidates were registered with the Election Comission of BlakeIsHere in accordance with normal procedures. They could either be nominated by a political party or electoral bloc, civic organisations, or self-nomination as independents.
