Mongon is a blanket term to describe the intelligent races native to the Planet of Mongo. These races were all created by the “Great God Tao”, whom they hold in reverence. They are characterized by their humanoid appearance, and most notably, their reliance on radiation to survive. They do not eat, but only drink and use radiation for energy. They are social creatures, with the Sweoloth being naturally loyal towards the Aureoloth. Dóceoloth are the result of interbreeding between the Aureoloth and any form of Sweoloth or Dóceoloth, and are considered mutts.
Over 9 million Mongons now reside in the Golden Domain, with the vast majority of them being Sweoloth. Requiring radiation to survive, as a human needs food, Mongons rarely leave the Domain, if ever, in their lives. Sweoloth housing varies, but in one way it is almost always similar: the places they live are fairly close knit, and almost communal styled. Depending on the location, this could be a more literal village, or a series of apartments. Regardless, due to their nature, and the will of the Aureoloth, the Sweoloth tend to live in moderately sized groups. The Dóceoloth, self serving as they are, often live in luxury, to whatever degree they can afford. This means often sleeping in solitude, though they rarely leave their places of living empty. The Aureoloth are known to be so focused on their work that they live at it, and thus many forgo a separate home.

===Common Physiology===

===Consumption===
Mongons all have very similar physiologies. All are roughly humanoid in appearance. They also all possess the same internal organs, external and internal, though the properties of them are on occasion slightly altered from one another. All possess an external Dels, which is above the skin, and regenerated relatively quickly. All possess a Theote, which is the “water organ” of Mongons. It acts as a stomach for water, as well as taking on the jobs a kidney would. It contains the water which Mongons drink, as well as absorbs it. It will not absorb anything besides water and radiation, with only a few exceptions. Water that is too contaminated is unable to be absorbed. Connected to the theote, in all Mongons, is the Drenc, which effectively replaces their liver, and is also where the radiation is sent. Responsible for distributing the energy to their bodies, the Drenc is sometimes considered to be a sub-organ of the Theote. Finally, all Mongons have a Throsm. The Throsm produces radioactive gasses, which fill up the empty portions of Mongons. The gasses are slow flowing, and thus if the Dels is penetrated they only escape slowly. The gasses help Mongons keep their bodies form in a standard array.
Like most living beings, every Mongon, be it Sweoloth, Dóceoloth, or Aureoloth, requires water to live. However, unlike most species, they do not consume food. Instead they absorb radiation in order to survive. This is generally achieved in one of two ways. The first way, simply absorbing it, is slower and passive. However, it requires no effort on the part of the Mongon, only necessitating that they be in a radioactive environment. The second way, which is achieved by drinking radioactive water, is faster and active. It is far more effective at getting Mongons the radiation they need quickly, though this leads to more waste, but bears little consequence to them. Mongons naturally “purify” salt water, and thus are able to consume it without the consequence of dehydration.

===Life and Span===
Female Mongons possess Bōsmas(Bōsm for the singular), which create Lēomena, which Mongons use in the same way which mammals use milk. Lēomena is created by the mother Mongon with her Bōsmas, and is mostly comprised of water, mixed with very high concentrations of radiation, making it energy rich. This allows young Mongons to receive enough energy to grow, without the mother being requiring to spend a large amount of her time feeding it. While it is not just water with high quantities of radiation in it, water with high quantities of radiation in it can be effectively used as a sort of “formula” if a mother cannot be available to nurse her child.
Mongons reproduce sexually. The result of this is roughly a year of pregnancy for the female, which generally results in the birth of one child, though having more than one child per pregnancy is possible.

Their children are not fat, as human ones are, but are thin and somewhat long creatures. They are practically helpless, more so than even human children, when they are young. It takes around a year before they stand fully upright, and generally around four months past when they first stand to reliably walk. Aureoloth children are the only exception, taking an average of fourteen months to begin standing, but walking within three. Thus Aureoloth children take longer on average overall than Sweoloth and Dóceoloth children in total time, but generally take less time to learn how to walk once they learn to stand. However, the extra time comes from learning to stand, as the Aureoloth are far heavier than their counterparts.
===Differential Physiology===

Sweoloth, Dóceoloth, and Aureoloth mothers all nurse their children, like how humans and other mammals do, but unlike mammals they do not produce milk. Instead they produce a fluid known as Lēomena. Lēomena is an extremely radioactive fluid which is made in large part of water, and is produced within the female, thus requiring them to absorb far more radiation than usual when nursing. Young Mongons can absorb radiation, but their small size and great need of energy means that without being nursed, they would quickly starve to death. Baby Mongons would require an environment incredibly radioactive, even by Domain standards, to survive off of passively absorbing radiation.
Despite all of the similarities, there are still several differences between the types, and individual species, of Mongons. Among Sweoloth, the Winged and Maned people have fairly obvious differences which can be deciphered from their names. The Winged people have large wings upon their backs, while the Maned men have no wings, but possess a “Mane” of hair. The Winged people have paler skin, while that of the Maned people is darker on average. The Maned people also possess formidable claws on their fingers. All Sweoloth have some anti-magical “taint”, though it is not very extreme, and for them is entirely passive.

As they develop, Sceon young have their wings properly grow out, while Cræftiga young have their claws turn from being short and blunted to being long and sharp, around the time they are beginning to walk. However, the Sceon wings are generally not used until they are two years old.
The Dóceoloth are the bastard creation of the interbreeding of Aureoloth and Sweoloth, and therefore share the similarities of their parents, to a degree. However, unlike both the Aureoloth and the Sweoloth, they have a total lack of anti-magical “taint.” They have neither claws nor wings nor a specialized dels, instead only having a standard dels. In appearance they have yellow skin. Of all the Mongons, they are most like humans.

Both male and female mongons are able to breed within around eighteen years. However, their bodies do not finish developing physically until an average of twenty years. While they do not grow especially taller than humans, their average ends up higher as they have a far taller short end. No “elderly” exists in a biological sense, with Mongons theoretically having immortality. However, except in the case of the Golden People, none are known to have breached two hundred years old.
Aureoloth are the original counterpart of the Sweoloth, and are on average slightly taller than them at around 7 feet tall, as well as being much stronger. Their Dels is golden in appearance, though has a similar feel to that of a normal Dels. It renders them immune to acid and the atomizing blasts of Domain weaponry. Notably, they also are far more intense in their anti-magical prowess, not only being far more anti-magical than the Sweoloth, but being able to use it more actively.

===Physical Form===
==Life Cycle and Span==
As they do not consume food, Mongons lack intestines, a stomach, and other such related organs. In place of a stomach they have a large water organ, called a Theote. It hydrates Mongons by getting the water into them, alongside being a fast and effective way for them to consume radiation, instead of having to passively absorb it. The Theote also replaces the kidneys, filtering their waste fluid for them. Despite lacking a need to consume food, Mongons posses sharp fangs, which are designed for combat, not consumption.

In place of a Liver Mongons have an organ called the Drenc. It acts similar to a liver, except it specializes in dealing with the radiation inside of the Mongons. It works in tandem with the Theote of Mongons.
All Mongons give live birth, and never bear more than two children in the case of a Sweoloth, or 1 in the case of an Aureoloth. Dóceoloth, whether or not the offspring is created by one, both, or none of the parents being a Dóceoloth, are born as triplets. This causes issues when a Sweoloth is the mother, since they are not created to be able to bear 3 children at one. What is usually a very easy pregnancy turns into a situation that is at best miserable, and at worst is excruciating. Sweoloth young are naturally somewhat thin, and frail, and thus childbirth is relatively easy for the mother. However, Dóceoloth babies are more similar to human ones, and thus continue to harm the Sweoloth mother until they have been fully removed from her. Due to these conditions, not only are cases in which a Sweoloth has a Dóceoloth young the only times C-sections are performed in the Domain, but also is the only sort of situation in which abortions have been permitted on Mongons while on Sparkalia, though it is legal in all cases, and only in such cases, that the mother’s life is in peril.

Mongons possess a more unique organ, known as the Throsm. It creates a thick and slow moving radioactive gas, which is about the same weight as air. This gas fills the inside of Mongons, taking up the empty space within them in which no organs are.
Mongons nurse heir young for around two years in the case of Sweoloth young, 3 in the case of Aureoloth young, but often only 1 in the case of Dóceoloth young. The Aureoloth grow slower but stronger which is why they have to nurse longer. However, Dóceoloth grow quickly, more similar to a human, and thus do not nurse for long. This is fortunate for them, as Sweoloth mothers, if they do manage to give birth to them, almost always fail to recognize Dóceoloth young as their own, and do not nurse them. This requires either a substitute nurse, usually an Aureoloth or Dóceoloth, or for the young to be fed highly irradiated water.

Mongons possess a secondary, thicker, section of skin/flesh, known as their Dels. Thicker and stronger than normal skin, it keeps the gasses that the Throsm produces safely trapped within the Mongons. It also offers them greater protection against external damage. When punctured, the Throsm gasses leak out, albeit slowly. Fortunately, the Dels is able to fully regenerate itself naturally, unlike most parts of Mongons, and thus puncturing the Dels does not permanently maim the victim. Upon death, Mongons also begin to “deflate” releasing the Throsm gases, and causing their body chambers to collapse. The Dels is extremely durable against decay and radiation, more so in total than any other part of a deceased Mongon, especially in the Case of the Aureoloth.
Dóceoloth take the least time to mature, generally maturing by 18. Sweoloth take slightly longer, needing until 20 to mature. Aureoloth, growing slowly but steadily, take all the way until thirty to mature. Past full maturity, Mongons do not age much, though some slight differences can be noticed, no old age seems to exist, only an exasperated form of the younger age’s appearance. While they have no natural old age death point, the condition of their skin is also helped by their Dels, which regenerates, and thus naturally stays healthy and fairly young looking.

The Golden men are unique in that their flesh is as gold. It feels almost the same as gold, except that is naturally warm, and is softer when pressed into then gold. It renders the Golden men immune to acids. It also protects them completely from the atomic weapons of the Domain, just as gold would.

In terms of size, the Sweoloth races, alongside the Dóceoloth, are on average six foot for males, and about five foot nine inches tall for females, give or take one~to~two inches on average. Their gaseous placeholder causes them to be lighter than humans of the same height, though their Dels helps to even out the weight comparison. The Aureoloth are much heavier than their Sweoloth or Dóceoloth counterparts due to their Dels. They are also stronger, though their much greater strength is necessary due to their heavy Dels.
===Consumption===

No Mongon is capable of consuming food. They require both water and radiation to survive, with radiation taking the place of food by giving Mongons the energy needed to survive and thrive. Mongons can either absorb radiation directly or absorb it by drinking it. Absorbing it directly, also known as passively “feeding” is a slow process, and is unfit in almost all cases for properly providing for Mongons. Drinking radiation requires the water to contain the radiation within it. When determining if water is “contaminated” radiation is considered clean, and thus not a contaminant. Besides Lēomena, Mongons can only absorb water with their Theote, and if the water is too polluted it could be rendered almost, or even fully, impossible for them to utilize. When this occurs, Mongons are forced to empty out the contents of their Theote sack.

Sweoloth are the Mongon group required to consume radiation most frequently. They can last around a week without having consumed radiation before negative effects start to set in, though passive radiation can often make it take much longer in highly irradiated areas. They go go roughly the same time without water, but due to having a dedicated water sack, they can last longer than humans before negative effects set in for around twice the time if they drink heavily before going without water.

Dóceoloth can go for upwards of a month without consuming radiation, before severe effects begin to set in. They are required to drink water at about the same frequency as a human, and in roughly similar quantities. Unlike the Sweoloth and Aureoloth, their water organ is not nearly is flexible, and is much more rigid, as well as being smaller. In turn, their Drenc is more developed, allowing them to more efficiently process the radiation.

The Aureoloth can go just as long as the Sweoloth without consuming water, due to having a similar Theote sack. However, their Dels allows them to retain radiation better, and their Drenc is more efficient than even that of the Dóceoloth. They can last around a year without consuming radiation, in theory, although they would be greatly weakened by such point.

What comes in must go out. For the Mongons, what goes in is mostly water. They lack any solid excrement, only having the ability to urinate. Primarily waste water is released. However, since the Theote is not perfectly efficient, unprocessed radiation is also expelled, as well as degraded materials. The Aureoloth, being the most efficient in the usage of radiation, thus expel the least, while the Sweoloth species release the most.

Just as they passive can consume radiation, so to can some passively fizzle out of them. The Aureoloth let the least amount fissile out, while the Dels of the Sweoloth allow the most to escape. They rate at which energy escapes them also increases with the amount they ingest. Due to these properties Mongons can practically not become “fat”.<ref> Mongons lack fat cells, however, they still store energy, and thus can develop a much less prominent “equivalent”, though it forms right under the Dels and is more evenly distributed.</ref>

Mongon(s) {(Poke) Mon (Qui)gons} [Clarus Sweoloth/Aureoloth - Hybridus Dóceoloth] is the blanket term for the created humanoid races that are native to Mongo. Standing around 2 yards tall, the average Mongon is not above a human in maximum height, but is taller far more often than a human is. Fully sapient, they were created by Atol/Tao, making them Atol/Tao’ic creatures, and were created on Mongo, making them Mongonoids. Mongons are all humanoid in general shape. They all must drink water and consume radiation, and none can consume food/

Mongons are comprised of four species and three separate groups, of which 4 of the species and 2 of the groups were created directly by Atol/Tao. As a consequence of being made by Atol/Tao, a spiritual entity most potent in anti-magic, all Mongons are at the very least slightly “tainted” with anti-magic. Heavily social creatures in nature, Atol/Tao created the Sweoloth to be naturally subservient to the Aureoloth. Thus the society of the Mongons has always placed the Aureoloth above the Sweoloth, who serve them both due to nature and law.

Mongons are divided into Sweoloth, Aureoloth, and Dóceoloth, the former two being the groupings created by Atol/Tao, while the latter is the result of mixing the former two, being a mutt species. Aureoloth, the Golden People, and Dóceoloth, the Yellow people, are both only home to their own species. Sweoloth, however, contains both the Winged and Maned people.

Etymology

The term “Mongon” simply refers to a resident of Mongo. It refers more specifically to the sapient races created by Atol/Tao.

Sweoloth simply refers to the “glow”, a term for the radiation, and is the world in its long form, often seen as -Eoloth. Aureoloth and Dóceoloth both are built upon this word, with Au- referring to the skin of the Golden people, and Dóc- meaning bastard.

Atol/Tao’ic refers to them being created by Atol/Tao.The -ic is short for “is creator”. Mongonoid refers to them being a living creature that is native to Mongo.

Whenever they are referred to as “X people/men”, the world people/men replaces is more closely related to “-Eoloth”, but has no direct translation into common, and thus “people/men is used as a substitute.

Cræftiga refers to a craftsman, while Sceon refers to being a messenger.

History

The Sweoloth and Aureoloth were created by Atol/Tao on the planet of Mongo, and thus are often known either as Atol/Tao’ic or as Mongonoids. The Aureoloth were created to hold Dominion over the Sweoloth, and thus are naturally controlling to them, and in turn the Sweoloth naturally obey. As with all his other creations, some anti-magic “taint” is present in Sweoloths, but to the Aureoloths he gave far more potent anti-magic.

However, Atol/Tao did not directly create the Dóceoloth. Rather, they are the product of interbreeding between the Sweoloth and Aureoloth. This occurred before the Mongons arrived on Sparkalia, although the same process could still create them on Sparkalia.

Upon arriving onto Sparkalia, the Mongons waged war against the previous inhabitants of what would become the Glowing Coast. While they were busy turning the landscape into an irradiated “paradise”, they had to fight armed resistance from the lands prior inhabitants, although the radiation was enough to kill many of them initial inhabitants.

Modern Living

Over 9 million Mongons now reside in the Golden Domain, with the vast majority of them being Sweoloth. Requiring radiation to survive, as a human needs food, Mongons rarely leave the Domain, if ever, in their lives. Sweoloth housing varies, but in one way it is almost always similar: the places they live are fairly close knit, and almost communal styled.

Consumption

Due to these properties Mongons can practically not become “fat”.[1]

  1. Mongons lack fat cells, however, they still store energy, and thus can develop a much less prominent “equivalent”, though it forms right under the Dels and is more evenly distributed.
