Etymology

New Pervincia is named after Pervincia. The name was chosen as to not offend any of the main groups which lived in the province.

History

The region which today makes up the province of New Pervincia has a long history of outside ownership and colonization.

Pre-History

New Pervincia's earliest known inhabitants are nomadic reindeer herders connected to the Hreindýrafólk.

The Nordesian culture is believed to have originated within New Pervincia. New Pervincia and it's people were described in [tba] by [tba] in the work [tba]. They are described as a fishing and trading people who use uniquely shaped boats. Artifacts from the time reveal that the inhabitants of the region used a similar Runic written language to later Nordesian cultures.

Classical Nordesian Period

As Nordesian groups spread throughout the northern hemisphere the land of New Pervincia and neighboring Ruotsaland made a consistent base, clans and petty kingdoms sent out raiding and settling parties.

Utroutsa began being established as a separate entity during this time. Lepers and

Separation

As Utroutsa had been systematically depopulated and divided, it acted as a breeding ground for discontent and rebel movements. This had caused continuous tensions between the rulers of Refaland and the High Kings

Supero Omnian Period

The Supero Omnian Arctic Trading Interests Company first arrived in Utroutsa in 1808. They would develop tactics for domination here which would later be put to great use on the Pervincian islands and in other Company territories. They would purchase an area of coastal land from a local authority then build a small fort and dock on that land, then begin trading with local civilians and recruiting local workers and soldiers. When the local leader demanded they stop, the Company would send a ship and group of soldiers to destroy their center of power in a show of force, then put a new leader in power who will act as a puppet. They would then proceed to bring Supero Omnians from the mainland to rule over the territory.

This tactic worked extraordinarily well for seizing control of coastal territory, which allowed representatives to head inland and make deals with other leaders for access to land and free trade rights. Traders would then provide access to books and begin teaching young Utroutsans the Ziromnian language and ideas. This new middle-class would later be referred to as the "Bokförrädare" (Book-traitors) and would act as a local force to be propped up to secure trade, and-if neccessary- be the foundation for a local rebellion.
