Akeniran, offically the Keniriki Confederacy, is a country occupying the northernmost reaches of the continent of Abyaala on Septentrion. It borders Leonesco to the south, and Tir Glas to the north, though the latter border is rather small. The northern coast borders an area know as The Maw, an important trade point. Its total land area is nearly nine hundred thousand square kilometers, and had a population of just over one hundred million people in the 2010 census. The capital city is Kefitaroki, located in the eastern half of the country.

Etymology

Following the split of the Niranic Empire in approximately 1000AD, the people in the southern half of the Empire wished to distinguish themselves from the heretical northerners. They declared themselves a new people, taking their name in Isaetinyan from the words for Jungle and Mountain, thus making themselves the Jungle Mountain People, or Keniriki. Akeniran, therefore, is simply the land of the jungle mountain people.
