Early life

Brown was born on June 30, 1988, in Sydney, NSW. His father, Matthew Brown, was a Sergeant in the Australian federal Police (AFP), were he was a member of the Specialist Protective Services (SPS). Matthew Brown is known for his involvement with the Pong Su Incident - (Were he was attached to the Army Special Operations Tactical Assault Group as a Law Enforcement liaison), 1993 Jolimont Centre Siege, and the founding of the Units Tactical Intelligence Office. Matthew Brown retired as a Commander Due to his father being mostly absent from home during his upbringing, Brown formed a strong relationship with his mother, Lisa, who passed due to lung complications in mid-2005. Brown described the remainder of his childhood from then on out as "lonely, almost meaningless," presumably due to the loss of his mother.

Brown was a self-proclaimed loner during the majority of his childhood, maintaining a close though small friend group throughout middle and high school. He often spent much of his free time reading and writing. Brown was an ambitious student, earning the commandment of valedictorian in his senior year of high school. He was renowned for his accomplishments at home, his father recalling that he was very proud of what his son had done.

Career

Military

Joshua Brown Enlisted in the Australian Army as an Intelligence Officer in 2007. Upon Completing basic training at the Australian Army Recruit Training Centre Brown was assigned to the 1st Intelligence Battalion As a  2nd Lieutenant. As soon as Brown was accepted into the 1st Intelligence Battalion he was deployed to the Iraqi War in 2008 as an intelligence asset attached to the 2nd Commando Regiment, He participated in the 2008 Iraqi Spring Fighting, Siege of Sadr City, and the Battle of Basra. Brown fell in love with the picturesque Iraq landscape and opted to stay with back in-country attached to the USA's Joint Special Operations Command(JSOC) Task Force 145. Brown was attached to Task Force Black As a foreign intelligence asset. Brown returned on the 3rd of May. On his arrival home Brown was commended for his vital role in the killing of Abu Ayyub al-Masri, where he led the assault. Sadly Brown took a bullet to his shoulder, Diving in-front of one of his teammates - saving his life . Although the wound was not life threating Brown does suffer from occasional Spurts of pain, and takes Ibuprofen. Brown was dually awarded the Victorian Cross and was promoted to Captain for his superhuman act of bravery that saved the Central Intelligence Agency's Special Activities Division/Special Operations Group (formerly the Special Activities Centre) Team leader from a multitude of grenades lobbed down the stairs which brown threw and kicked away back at the attackers. Whilst in Iraq Brown fell in with the men in 2nd Commando. So when Brown got back from deployment he spent his required 4 years with the  1st Intelligence Battalion, And then shortly applied to be transferred back to the 2nd Commando Regiment, which fell under the jurisdiction of Special Operations Command (SOCOMD). Upon his acceptance to the Regiment, and his official completion of training at the Defense Special Operations Training And Education Centre, Brown was finally assigned back to his brothers in the 2nd Commando Regiment. Upon his transfer to the Regiment Brown was promoted to the rank of Major . After spending a couple of years with the men of the 2nd Commando, Brown put in a transfer request for the Special Air Service Regiment His request for a transfer was accepted. On his acceptance to the SASR, Joshua Brown was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Brown was deployed to Afghanistan and redeployed again back to Iraq to protect the Australian Embassy After the 2014 Northern Iraqi Offensive. Browns last deployment with the Special Air Assault Regiment and the Australian Army in general was to Africa, to gather intelligence, specially all over Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Kenya. Brown was deployed to work alongside the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) operatives operating out of Swan Island, to develop plans in case Australian Civilians were taken in a hostile environment. Brown disengaged shortly after being inserted in country though due to media concerns from the Sydney Morning Herald that SASR operatives won't have the same legal coverage as the ASIS operatives. After serving with the SASR for almost 4 years and again getting promoted to the rank of Colonel, Brown was asked to join the Australian Secret Intelligence Service(ASIS). Brown felt highly of the ASIS and made friends with the operatives he met on his deployment alongside them. After spending a service of almost seven years with The Australian Army Brown thought long and hard about leaving the profession he had been with for most of his life. After careful consideration Brown hastily accepted the job offer. There is no info on his life on his job at ASIS although it is believed that he was recruited into a black ops task force, that was made up of Australian Secret Intelligence Service Operatives (ASIS), Central Intelligence Agency Operatives (CIA), MI6 Operatives and FSB operatives. The target/objective of this task force is unknown.
