The Northern States Railroad would be chartered in 1891 to Rival the Great Northern Railway and the Northern Pacific Railway and Milwaukee Road being formed of many abandoned lines by smaller railroads by the US Federal Government being merged with 6 Other Railroads in 1969 to form the North American System
