Akira Hikari (Hikari Akira in western naming order, Né Tanin, born January 13th, 1989), is the CEO of Akira Heavy Industries, a Neo-Korean Iminchebol since 2026. Notable for her role in the funding and development of the NMT-31 "Dokkaebi" and other associated military ground vehicle designs for the Neo-Korean Ground Forces, alongside several ventures in chemical industries, high speed rail developments in both Neo-Korea and, more recently, Meridon. Under her direction, Akira has continued to invest in economic and military developments abroad, especially in The Federation of Atkemri owing to a continued corporate need for the extractive cobalt industry in the nation.
Hikari would be adopted by the previous head of the company, Akira Takao, after the death of his own child in a freak accident. She went to the Sabi University of Economic Development throughout the 2012-2016 period, spending 18 years working in Akira Heavy Industries as a manager at an Akira Steel production facility, COO of the Akira Steel subordinate board of directors, and eventual official successor to Takao, beating out several other individuals who attempted to achieve the role.
Hikari has been noticeably reclusive in the public sphere, spurning attempts at photography or other recordings of her directly, although in regards to interpersonal negotiations she had been noted to be surprisingly ambitious, possessing a bold nature when not required to interact with large groups of individuals. Her personal net-worth is believed to be around 3.25 Billion, primarily manifested through real estate and holdings outside of the state.
Early Life, Education
Crèche, Adoption
Hikari would be left at the Sabi Central Crèche shortly after her birth, being named by the superintendent of the facility utilizing the Tanin last name given to all individuals with a similar lack of declare parentage. She would spend her early years showing general proficiency in but not an exceptional grasp of a variety of subjects. She would be surprisingly adopted at the age of 16 by the then-current CEO of Akira Heavy Industries, Akira Takao, after the death of his son in a freak accident. For the remaining four years, she would be schooled by non-disclosed individuals hired from abroad.
Takao would be generally distant, although Hikari would later note that she had felt a general feeling of pride she believed was present on his end throughout the later years of his life.
Sabi University of Economic Development
Hikari would have a generally successful college career, majoring in Economic Development and becoming a member of an on-campus gathering of other future economic leaders, including Suko Masaru. Hikari would spend four years at college before joining Akira as a manager in iron production facilities in 2017.
Business Career
Facility Management
Throughout her role as a manager, she would generally prove proficient in increasing both the amount produced and sold, although this came at perceived costs in regards to the health of the working staff- including the cutting of breaks and a perceived cruelness in a large-scale series of firings and demotions. She would be promoted after four years of leadership to the role of COO on the Akira Steel board. By the end of her career in a management role, she increased the profits of the facility by an approximate 15% in comparison to other facilities.
Chief Operating Officer
During her period as the Chief Operating Executive of the Akira Steel subsidiary, she would engage in a large-scale process of reorganization, including the creation of an internal construction grouping and the hiring/firing of colossal amounts of managerial staff, generally as a part of the opening of a series of iron production facilities in Jungg'o. Generally, these efforts were fiscally successful, although they continued to raise concerns in regards to the individuals targeted for firing and seeming attempts to accumulate personal power over the country, with a fair section of the board being fired during her tenure in the role, and those hired to replace them being a key part of her successful appointment to the role of CEO.
CEO
Hikari would be promoted to the role of CEO in 2026, after Takoda's retirement, beating out a series of other competitors amongst the rest of the family owing to her direct experience and command of the loyalty of the majority of the board (itself owed to a series of large-scale favors given to said board members). Her primary action has been to expand already planned activities abroad, such as the construction of High Speed Rail in Meridon or the extraction of cobalt in Atkemri, alongside other developments in the corporate sphere.
Armament Development
Under her leadership, Akira would invest in the military industries to a greater extent than her predecessor, most especially in regards to ground and, surprisingly, military jet capabilities. The latter would manifest in the Akira-Z0 stealth testing model created by the company for internal usage, which Akira under her guidance would attempt to market a variant of into a candidate for the Project Raven program. This would fail, but Akira has continued to attempt to move into aerial development programs despite such, complementing their other military programs for the Neo-Korean State. These other programs include the Akira NMIFV-29 "Bakemono" and the NMT-31 "Dokkaebi", alongside multiple Anti-Tank Missile designs and other forms of artillery development.
Chemical Industries
Akira has invested heavily into heavy chemical industries after her ascension to the CEO position, attempting to carve a niche in the field, an action which has proven generally economically successful. Specifically, it has opened chemical plants in both Lushun and Jungg'o, gaining notably favorable industrial prioritization by the state in the interest of attempting to create economic incentives to provide labor to the Neo-Korean State.
Public Image
Generally, Hikari has been notably reclusive in regards to her interactions with the public, disavowing the more exuberant image Takoda attempted to manifest. This has been described as the result of an almost excessive distaste for public speaking, alongside a general dislike of cameras and other means of recording, with her appearance primarily being known due to an drawing of her taken by a minor staffer during a meeting of the board.
