Modern airborne forces must travel light and that means forgoing the firepower that comes with heavy vehicles such as tanks. Most efforts to rectify this problem over the years have normally resulted in vehicles that their crews have described as death traps. For the last several decades, however, the Confederate States Military has utilized the M2103 Light Armoured Gun as a compromise between heavy armor and light transportation capability.
Description
The M2103 Light Armoured Gun is a light, mobile Light Attack Vehicle in use by the Confederate States Military. It is primarily utilized for small force projection operations, landings, air-drops, and other operations not permitting heavy support. While not having as thick an armor shell as the M2120 Main Battle Tank, it does comes equipped with ERA (Explosive reactive armour) plates and the Gladiator anti-missile system. It has also proved its worth when combined with tilt rotor aircraft, allowing companies of vehicles to be delivered direct to the battle zone along with the battalions of airborne infantry they support. The primary 120mm smoothbore cannon is equipped with a standard M21 autoloading mechanism to make effect use of crew size and capability.
