The F-21 Drekafighter was designed in conjunction with Marquesan, Imperial Drakonian, and domestic Anagonian companies to produce an upgraded, advanced Stealth Fighter platform to be used by the Confederate States Military. Originally designed to replace the F-60A-C Hekate, it soon became apparent that the F-60 was still a viable and reliable platform that could be used near-indefinitely. The decision was thereafter made to instead compliment the shortcomings of both Stealth Fighter platforms. Wherein the F-60 lacked capability on carrier-based platforms, the F-21 would compliment and fill the gap, and vice versa for land-aerial based operations. Manufactured in two variants, the F-21A and F-21B Carrier Variant, the most usage of the Drekafighter can be found with the Confederate States Navy.

Description

In 2001, President Valentine Shields tasked the Confederate Military with finding an adequate replacement to the F-60A/C Hekate. The Confederate Navy had been complaining to the government for many years that its stockpile of unused F-60C's were not adequate for carrier-based use, however upon recognition by the government of the issue the Confederate Air Force protested the replacement of one of its most widely used air assets in the F-60A. As a compromise, President Shields initiated a program to fill in the gaps left open by the F-60 for the Military. Working closely with both Imperial Drakonian and Marquesan companies, which at this point had become a common practice for the Military, the inception and introduction of the F-21 took place. Initial concepts were promising and by 2003 the F-21 was in full production. Designed primarily to compliment the Confederate Navy with the F-21B Carrier Variant, the F-21A was still produced to compliment existing squadrons of F-60A's across the nation.
