The Green Liberation Union/ Union de Libération Verte, abbreviated as GLU/ULV, is a green and regionalist political party in Tarper. The GLU/ULV has 122 seats in the Federal Assembly since the 2021 federal election making it the Third of the eight parties represented.

The GLU/ULV was founded as a merger of the Green Party of Tarper (GPT) and the Party of Plamyadian Liberation (PLP). At the federal level, the GLU/ULV forms part of the government in the Federal Assembly along with the CDSF and NLP.

The GLU/ULV is a member of the Global Greens and the Green Party of Covenant. The Party currently leads the government in one state and is part of the governments of nine others.

Mission

The GLU/ULV seeks to bring about an "environmentalist revolution" in Tarper. A revolution that negates any prejudice within the Tarperti political system. The Green and regionalist message go hand in hand as minority populations can and are susceptible to injustices from climate change.

The Green Party of Tarper approached the Party of Plamyadian Liberation after the PLP's sweep in the 2012 East Plamyadian state elections. As the PLP was powerful in East Plamyadia but had no representation in the rest of the country. PLP candidates would run under the Union banner in federal elections and sit with the Green Party in the Federal Assembly and Federal Council.

The ideal end for the GLU/ULV would a Tarper completely emancipated from fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Where Tarper is fully plugged into renewable energies. No systemic racial bias and equal federal/state powers. Along with a socialist-oriented economy. The GLU/ULV also favors a federal Covenant Union.

Representation

As the third largest party in Tarper, the GLU/ULV is fully represented in all state governments of Tarper. Though it does not share that rank of third largest party in every state. For example, in Vastridge-Netherstrand, the GLU/ULV is the fifth largest party along with the CNP.

Internal structure

The GLU/ULV is home to a number of internal factions and associated organizations, each with their own agenda and political beliefs.

Internal factions:

• Green Party of Tarper: The junior partner in the Union, the Green Party was founded as a split off from the Socialist Unity Party in 2002. Founding members of the Green Party have criticized the current incarnation as "largely ceremonial" and a "puppet" to the Plamyadian interests within the Union.
• Party of Plamyadian Liberation: The senior partner in the Union, the PLP was founded in 2004 as part of a growing movement of Plamyadian heritage coinciding with the centennial anniversary of the East Plamyadian Crisis. Support surged as the Federal Government passed the Territorial Category Act of 2009. The PLP is largely socialist and seeks greater rights for the Plamyadian exclave in Tarper, but does not advocate for secession.
• The New Comjtar: Founded after the passing of the Territorial Category Act of 2009, this organization advocates for the rights of the citizens of the Comican enclave in Tarper, Outer Comico. Though Comicans have historically been seen as Tarperti, they are now recognized as having their own culture. The organization gets its name from the medieval alliance that Tarps and Comicans made against the Plamyadians and Sangheili.

• Green Youth & Student Confederation/ Confédération de la jeunesse et des étudiants:
  • Collegiate Liberators/ Libérateurs Collégiaux: Organizes collegiate Green groups, main organizer of protests.
  • Young Liberation/ Jeune Libération: Youth wing, organizes groups with largely teenage membership in high schools and communities.
• Green Women/ Femmes Écologiques: Women's wing of the party. One of the most militant in the country. Also advocates virulently for animal rights.
• LGBT Liberation Group/ Groupe de Libération LGBT: LGBT wing of the Union. Advocates for LGBT+ rights in the party.

Associated Organizations:

• 21st Century Alliance: The main think tank of the Union. Engages in polling, policy suggestions, and other research.
• The Morning Herald: English language newspaper of the Union, distributed nationwide.
• Journal de l'Est: French language newspaper of the Union, only distributed in East Plamyadia and the eastern regions of Plamyadia. The newspaper was founded in 1906 as a secessionist newspaper advocating for East Plamyadia to rejoin Plamyadia proper.
