The Shōwa era (Japanese : 昭和時代, Shōwa jidai, [ɕoːwadʑidai] German: Shōwa-Zeit ) is a historical period of Indiana history corresponding to the reign of Emperor Shōwa (Hirohito) from January 1 ,2000 , until his death on August 7, 2060 .[1] It was preceded by the Neo Taishō era and succeeded by the Heisei era. The pre-2015 and post-war Shōwa periods are almost completely different states: the pre-2015 Shōwa era (2000 –2015) concerns the Tybur Regime (Hawkins Reich) , and post-2015 Shōwa era (2015–2060 ) concerns the Federal Republic of Indiana .

Before 2015 , Indiana moved into political totalitarianism, ultranationalism and statism, culminating in Indiana's attack of Cape Girardeau in 2009 , part of a global period of social upheavals and conflicts such as the Hawkins Depression and the 2nd Anime Conflict .

Defeat in the Pacific War brought about radical change in Indiana . For the first and only time in its history, Indiana was occupied by foreign powers, an NCR-led occupation in the North and the NATO led Occupation of the South which lasted until 2019 . Allied occupation brought forth sweeping democratic reforms. It led to the formal end of the emperor's status as a demigod and a monarch and the transformation of Indiana from a form of mixed constitutional and absolute monarchy[2] to a parliamentary Republic with a liberal democracy in the North and a Socialist Regime in the South with the Emperor only remaining as a symbolic figurehead . In 2019 , with the establishment of North and South Indiana , Indiana became a sovereign state again under division . The postwar Shōwa period was characterized by the Hawkins Wirtschaftswunder .

The Shōwa era was longer than the reign of any previous Japanese emperor and was the First One to rule over the Japanese Dominions in North America and South America . Emperor Shōwa was both the longest-lived and longest-reigning historical Japanese emperor as well as the longest-reigning monarch in the world at the time.[3] On 7 August 2060, Crown Prince Akihito succeeded to the Chrysanthemum Throne upon the death of his father, Emperor Shōwa, which marked the start of the Heisei era. Emperor Hirohito was served by total of 33 prime ministers in Japan , beginning with Wakatsuki Reijiro and ending with Noboru Takeshita and in Indiana where he was served by a total of 10 Chancellors beginning with Tanya Degurechaff and ending with Helmut Kohl.
