The Grand Duchy of Arkatzia, a poor, densely populated state, is a large nation indecisively run by the Chief Protector, which is also commonly a member of the Arkatzian Royal Dynasty. Arkatzia is also indirectly governed by the Arkatzian State Senate a level lower.

Geography

Arkatzia is currently not on the map of any region and therefore does not currently have any defined geographical features.

Map

Arkatzia has several notable cities, the largest of which holds the nation's Government and Military Headquarters; Farbanara.

Leadership

Hulberigan II

The current De Jure leader of Arkatzia is Chief Protector Hulberigan II, a dictator that holds most of the state's power and is also the leading member of the Arkatzian Royalty. Currently 35 years old, Hulbergian has ruled Arkatzia for 8 years and is currently the oldest legitimate sibling with 1 sister and 2 younger brothers. Hulberigan, despite his respected position and social status, is highly paranoid and usually interferes little in politics, much to the Chagrin of the Monarchist Arkatzian Party.

While from the outset the Chief Protector is seen as the sole ruling position in Arkatzia, the truth is far less glamorous. After the Arkatzian Civil War, the real mastermind behind the state has been the Vice Protector, who is elected (in questionable elections) by the Senate. The current Vice Protector, Lorbridan Raeria, usually attends diplomatic meetings in the place of the Chief Protector and is often seen at the head of Arkatzian diplomatic negotiations and treaties.

It is also bold to note, that, while the Chief Protector is seen as the highest ruling elite, the Vice Protector usually encourages most of the Chief Protectors important governing decisions, and that most Chief Protector's reigns often last shortly when they appear resistant.

The Senate

The Arkatzian Senate Seats

The Arkatzian State Senate, also referred to as plainly "The Senate", is the secondary committee that leads Arkatzia. It comprises of 223 seats, made up mostly of the 4 major political parties. The seats are elected by the Arkatzian population in every region, which as of 2019, is about 7,100,000 people per seat. The number of seats was decided after the Civil War, where at the time the population was much lower. As many writers and political scientists point out, the Arkatzian population has grown nearly 8 times since the end of the civil war, and the now near 7 million people represented per seat has caused a lot of underrepresentation over the last several years. Despite several failed attempts to revise the government, the Senate has remained unchanged since 1923.
