Etymology
The native Myrian name, Hektas (/ˈhɛktəs/) or Ektada /ɛk'taða/), comes from the semi-mythical progenitor of the Myrians, Hector. From this comes the native name of the Myrians, Ektires, and the official name of Myria, the Hektoric League (Myrian: Έκτορικί Λίνκα Éktorikí Línka, usually translated as Myrian Federation)
The name Myria comes from the Fiorentine Myraeia, which means 'land of the Myrians', which originates from the city of Myra. The name became a predominant exonym due to the League of Myra, and was adopted by the Fiorentines and is the most common name for Myria.
