Taido (泰道 Taidō) or tama-no-michi is the traditional religion of Ashihara and Nanto, including veneration of forces of nature and ancestors, exorcism of harmful forces, and a belief in the rational order of nature which can be influenced by human beings and their rulers as well as spirits and gods. It is the traditional religion of the Ashiharan people which focuses on mystical and ritual practices to connect people with their ancestors and deities (魂; tama)
