The '''Quatrines Islands''' ([[Catrinish language|Catrinish]]: ''Iilene de sidra'', {{wp|Finnish language|Velskish}}: ''Paapuurit saaret'', {{wp|Norwegian language|Veranish}}: ''Babordøyane'') are an {{wp|archipelago}} in the [[Hallanic Channel]], located 20 kilometres north of the [[country]] coast of [[Cardia]]. An [[Quatrines#Autonomy|autonomous]] [[Velsken#Administrative subdivsions|county]] within [[Kolmalamaa]], itself a constituent land of the [[Republic of Velsken]]. The islands have a total area of about 176.3 square kilometres with a population of 147,281 inhabitants as of January 2019.


The first known reference to the archipelago was made by the [[Cardian Empire|Cardian]] {{wp|geographer}} [[Agathinus of Thyria]] in 235 BC, who named them ''Insulae Quatrinae'' after the four major islands he saw.
