Having been and member of the Hallanic Parliament for Thveiti from 1910 to 1916, Vallen-Myllys was one of the leading figure in the proclamation of the First Republic, and remained an influential indepentists leader during his exile in Crethia and from 1923 Arlyon. Returning to Velsken in 1928, shortly before the Second Hallanic Wars, Vallen-Myllys was one of the three Regent of State elected to led the country throughout the conflict. Overseeing the merger of several left-oriented forces into the newly-founded Republican Party that emerged victorious from the civil war, Vallen-Myllys was elected the first president of Velsken in 1931, and was reelected four consecutive times. Under his tenure, the power became increasingly centralised into the hands of the Republican Party, and socialist influences became increasingly present into both the party and the state. Vallen-Myllys died from a stroke in the middle of his fifth term.
