Katherine Ana (Serbian: Катарина Ана Катка Соња Хелена Емилиа Katarína Ana Katka Sonja Helena Emília) is the current queen and monarch of the Kings of Serbia and daughter of the former monarch, Allan I, King of Serbia. She was married to Prince Curtis of Albania until his unexpected death in 2071. She is the third Queen of Serbia after her grandmother Alaza and her aunt, Aura. Her eldest daughter Agathe her current heir apparent.

Early Life

Katherine Ana, born as Karoline Anna, is the fourth child of King Allan I of Serbia. She was preceded by two boys and a girl, Allan, Charlene and Marc Antoine. However, Karoline was the first of his children to be legitimate and from a marriage. Her mother is Queen Cordelia, who married Allan nine months before Karoline's birth. As the only legitimate child of the King of Serbia, she took the position as heir to the throne.

Karoline struggled to get along with her older half siblings,Allan and Marc Antoine virtually hated her, the former being both the eldest child and eldest son of the King of Serbia through his favorite and more formal mistress,Jeanne Antoinette de Pois-Fontaine. Karoline was unlike her half-siblings, raised alone in the Serbian Palace by her mother and her frequently visiting aunt.

Childhood

As a young child, the Princess of Serbia lived in the later years of the reign of her famous and beloved Grandmother, Queen Alaza. At the encouragement of Alaza, whilst Karoline was raised by her mother and aunt, Prince Allan spent far more time with her than any of his other children. This caused her half siblings to develop a terrible dislike for her. The then 71+ year old Queen often times tried to visit her daughter, what was unable to do so due to schedules and duties of the Queen.

Two women instead played a major part in her childhood, both of whom were opposites of the other. One was her mother, the radical and lefist liberal Princess Cordelia, the fiery and ambitious yet forgiving mother of Karoline. Cordelia had been briefly a leader of her home nation, Aravea. Her husband, Allan, had tried several times later in Karoline's life to try and make her an empress, though all attempts failed. Cordelia was happy to have a daughter and thought Queens were best for Serbia, considering the dangers of the Kingdom before 2001.

Meanwhile on the opposite side of the spectrum was her aunt, elder sister of Karoline's father. Auntie Au, as she was called by Karoline was a pacifist and passive woman who found that having too ambition was dangerous and would much rather watch the Opera or pray to God or have tea than anything else.

Education

Through her mother and strict Swiss tutors, she learned from age five onword about polotics of various nations and coalitions, including Serbia, Derita, the FDC and Congres de Vienne. Through her more conservative and passive aunt, she learn etiquiette and grace, described by Auntie Au as a charming little princess would will capture the world.

Succession Question

During her youth, Katherine Ana, as the sixth grandchild (legitimate, she is the tenth grandchild technically) of the reigning queen was part of the issue over who would succeed the Queen. Katherine Ana's father was the twin brother of the heir to the throne and this cause tension. Allan had originally been promised the throne and then Aura was pressed forward as the legal heir. Eventually through various acts of Royal decree and acts moved Katherine Ana was pushed up consently above her relatives.

Aunt's Acension

Katherine Ana's position was placed into precarious position as it seemed that she would loose her spot in the line of succession to her cousin, the then 21 year old Prince Reschnov. The Ascension of Queen Aura of Serbia was one in which it appeared that her son would become the next King of Serbia. This likely would have been the case had it not been for her brother, Prince Allan. The Queen's twin brother whispered into her ear in her six day old reign and convinced her to remove herself from the throne. Six days after the death of Queen Alaza, and only two after her funeral, Katherine Ana's aunt abdicated in favor of Allan.

Father's Acension

At age 12, as the only legitimate child of the Former Queen's younger twin brother, was now the heir apparent of the King of Serbia. As she became Crown Princess, she took the name Katherine Ana, which she is known by to this day.
