Bertenau (/bɛəɹtɛnaʊ/; Vierz pronunciation: [bɛʁteːnaʊ]) is the second-most populous city in Vierzland and both the largest city and capital of Hauvel, the most populous federal state. Its population of 4.2 million people in the city proper and 8 million in the metropolitan area, which it shares with the port city Friedrichstadt, makes it one of the largest metropolitan areas in Patyria.
