Early Life
Spurgeon-Price was born in Comnock & Holmhead, Cambria, one of four children to Alec and Hazel Spurgeon-Price; his father served as an Infantry Officer with the 4th Battalion, Royal Highland Regiment. He grew up in the hamlet of Comnock & Holmhead, and was educated at Hopetoun College. Spurgeon-Price graduated from the University of Tamworth in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts (Political Sciences) with honours, and he graduated from the Bromwich School of Government & International Studies with a Masters in International Studies in 1987.
Career
After completing his Masters, Spurgeon-Price joined the Foreign Services Graduate Scheme, after which he took a number of diplomatic postings around the globe. In 2005, he left the Foreign Service and was appointed as Private Secretary to King Albert I and subsequently King Albert II, until he retired from court in 2019.
