Etymology and Terminology

When Sutranovka united the region, they were given rights to name it. They settled on "Tiskaiya" after there home in the Tikaiskov Valley (Now Tiskai Heartlands).

Early History

Tiskaiya was originally a large collection of city states and principalities that migrated north from the Bretislav lands to the south. The most powerful of which, Sutranovka, united the land under both diplomacy and military conquest. Tiskaiya as a nation was founded in 1402. It was then the Kingdom of Tiskaiya. It quickly set itself up as a civilized nation. Tiskaiya was mainly in isolation until 1552. The 1552 Serf Rebellion quickly threw Tiskaiya out of isolation as it began looking for an edge to crush the rebellion, the was answered with the Snaphance Flintlock, and the rebellion was crushed in 1561. From this point forwards, Tiskaiya became an absolute monarchy. From 1592-1705 Tiskaiya returned to isolationism. However the Black Thursday Incident caused threat of revolution, so King Vasily II returned some power back to the nobles. From this point forwards, Tiskaiya would rapidly modernize.

Rise of the Royal Tiskai Navy

In 1722 Tiskaiya completed it's first Navy, while a relatively small force, it was mighty. Consisting of 7 First Rates, 10 Second Rates, 14 Third Rates, 16 Fourth Rates, 18 Fifth Rates, 22 Sloops, 28 frigates, 32 Brigs, and 40 Schooners. The Port of Kolerechnyy serves as the main naval port of the Tiskai Navy.

1560 - 1790

1560 marked Tiskaiya's race to catch up technologically with the other world powers. By 1680, Tiskaiya was a feat power looking to expand it's influence. Her first targets were the Fraszhatov Islands off the coastline, this is one of two colonial possessions Tiskaiya still maintains today.

1800 - 1900

This was Tiskaiya's golden age. 5 of Ridgefield's most prestigious universities were founded during this time. Oryshevsk University, University of Pyatidovo, Trasnaya University, Fedorov University and the University of Novoshi. Literacy rates climbed to 78%, up from 43% in 1725. Tiskaiya adjusted quickly to the industrial revolution and thus cities quickly grew. A sophisticated rail system spread across the Kingdom. Quality Tiskai steel allowed for skyscrapers, and the discovery of oil in the north helped everything run smoothly. Winters during this period were as mild as they have ever been allowing for extended growing seasons. Food was plentiful and people were happy. Judea was also integrated into Tiskaiya in 1892, amd still is under Tiskai control.

The Great War

Beginning in 1914, The Great War ravaged the Judea countryside, large scale battles took place on the Northern front in Operation Mjolnir.

Modern Times

Tiskaiya became a Federal Republic in 1948 with the death of Ivan XVI. Since then Tiskaiya has completely abandoned isolationism and opened trade with other world powers such as Antarcticao, Bretislavia, and India. Tiskaiya has kept up with technological advances and is now one of the most powerful nations in Ridgefield.
