The Armed Forces of Buite Hemel (AFBM) is a private military force of the Warlord Sovereign, leader of the Polity of Buite Hemel. Originally created by unifying all the pirate fleets in the mutual defense of the polity during the Sovereignty Crisis, the Armed Forces continues to exist today to carry out the will of the Warlord Sovereign. Composed of three forces divided into 67 constituent corps, the Armed Forces consists of approximately 972,000 personnel, tasked with maintain the sovereignty of Buite Hemel, carrying out the political will of the polity, and performing contract work for international clients through the black market.

Organizational Structure

The Armed Forces of Buite Hemel is composed of three divisions:

Command Structure

The Warlord Sovereign of Buite Hemel

Warlord Sovereign

The Warlord Sovereign is the commander-in-chief of the High Command of Buite Hemel and the Armed Forces of Buite Hemel, being the supreme leader of the political government and supreme commander of the military. Consequently, the office of the Walord Sovereign is synonymous with the High Command of Buite Hemel and the polity of Buite Hemel. Therefore, the Armed Forces of Buite Hemel acts as an extention of the will of the Warlord Sovereign, and historically has been deployed both internally and abroad as a combined or supplementary force. The title and office of the Warlord Sovereign originate in the Sovereignty Crisis of 1901-1903, formed as the head of all armed forces (including pirates, mercenaries, militia, and free warriors) in Buite Hemel willing to defend it against Imperio invasion.

The Warlord Sovereign not only commands the formal Armed Forces of Buite Hemel, but reserves the right to Conscript all able-bodied Hemelians and requisition their ships and arms for use in the defense or aid of Buite Hemel and its interests. Taking into account the current numbers of active and reserve service personnel in the Armed Forces of Buite Hemel, in addition to all armed individuals in the polity, the Warlord Sovereign is theorectically capable of amassing a fleet of up to 10,000,000 personnel, ready to sail in under 48 hours.

The Warlord Sovereign delegates a great deal of command authority to their second-in-command and right hand, the Master Marshal.

Master Marshal

The office of the Master Marshal is the second highest ranking position in the polity; as second-in-command of the Armed Forces and the High Command of Buite Hemel, the Master Marshal is resonsible for much of the day-to-day operations and planning behind achieving specific goals of the Warlord Sovereign. The Master Marshal directs and coordinates operations between the Forces Chiefs of the three constituent Armed Forces, as well as taking direct command over critical operations. The Master Marshal is also the public face of the Armed Forces and the High Command of Buite Hemel, speaking on the behalf of the Warlord Sovereign and the Polity on official matters that the Warlord Sovereign does not have time for. As the military and government are synonymous in Buite Hemel, the Master Marshal is also second-in-command of the executive, legislative, and judiciary components of the High Command of Buite Hemel, and exercises authority over them, as delegated to them by the Warlord Sovereign.

The Master Marshal is an appointed office, chosen entirely at the discretion of the Warlord Sovereign. Commonly, Master Marshals are former Warrant Officers who continued to demonstrate exceptional ability and intuition, far in excess of the abilities of the common soldier. The Current Master Marshal of Buite Hemel is Muramasa Zhao, appointed in 2010.

The commanding officers of the National Guard, the Expeditionary Forces, and the Logistics Forces, are the National Chief, Expeditionary Chief, and Logistics Chief respectively. Each of the Forces Chiefs are the highest ranking Comissioned Officers in the Armed Forces of Buite Hemel, having total command over their forces, reporting only to the Master Marshal and the Warlord Sovereign.
