Pakosc: Total War is a Malgravean animated war/action series set during the Battle of Pakosc. It focuses on the street to street fighting carried out by units of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment and the Pakosc Student Division.

Characters:

2nd Northern Training Regiment Description
Guerino Albina (S1-S4): Officer Cadet Albina was in charge of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment between 1964 and 1968. In the series he is shown to be deeply impacted by the loss of the soldiers under his command and is often seen personally leading charges against the enemy.
Bertoldo Tamara (S1-S3): Officer Cadet Tamara was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. In Season One he took command of a platoon responsible for reinforcing key positions across the front and is shown to be incredibly proficient in hand to hand combat. Tamara is killed leading a bayonet charge against an enemy position in Season 3
Wiesława Vanda (S1-S3): Officer Cadet Vanda was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. In Season One it was revealed that she had received the most medical training and was quickly “promoted” to lead a group of battlefield medics. In Season 3 she is killed while protecting a field hospital.
Romina Giana (S1-S4) Officer Cadet Giana was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. Before the war she had dreams of becoming an engineer and during the conflict she uses her talents to construct and maintain various fortifications and emplacements around the city. In S4 she sacrifices herself to prevent enemy reinforcements from crossing into the city.
Glauco Zoja (S1-S1) Officer Cadet Zoja was in charge of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. As the youngest soldier in the regiment, he is attached to Officer Student Albina in order to learn the challenges of command. At the end of Season One he is killed protecting Officer Student Albina from an assassination attempt.
Rita Beatrycze (S1-S3) Officer Cadet Beatrycze was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. In the series she is not only shown to be a capable soldier but is also an incredibly talented cook and is partially responsible for feeding the regiment. In Season 3 she is killed defending a field hospital.
Pakosc Student Division Description
Maura Judyta (S1-S3) Soldato Judyta was in charge of the Paksoc Student Division between 1964 and 1967. In the series she is shown to be an incredibly talented and quick thinking commander, but the losses and constant sounds of combat are shown to weigh heavily on her mind. After surviving an ambush in Season 3 she suffers a mental breakdown and is relieved of her command.
Felicja Giorgia (S1-S4) Soldato Giorgia was a member and eventual commander of the Paksoc Student Division. Initially she is an assistant to Private Judyta (and is shown planning several successful operations) but following the ambush in Season Three she is promoted to overall command.
Fulvio Poletti (S1-S3) Soldato Poletti was a member of the Paksoc Student Division. Initially reluctant about fighting he becomes a committed defender of the city, and is often seen in some of the heaviest fighting in the series. In Season 3 he is killed during an ambush
Gabriella Pesaro (S1-S3) Soldato Pesaro was a member of the Paksoc Student Division, and leader of one of the best performing units in the battle. In Season 3 she singlehandedly recaptures Pakosc Trade Union Headquarters from enemy hands but eventually succumbs to her wounds. The Pesaro Medal, the highest military award in the country is named in her honour.
Other (Allied Characters) Description
Kamila Sobiesław (S1-S4): Officer Cadet Sobiesław was a member of the 2nd Training Regiment. In various flashbacks it is revealed that she led a squad that held a valuable pass long enough for the rest of the 2nd Regiment to effectively mobilise a defence.
Giulio Albertina (S1-S3): Officer Cadet Albertina was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. In various flashbacks he is shown fighting alongside Sobiesław, and in S3 is killed by a sniper.
Leontina Ernesto (S1-S4): Officer Cadet Ernesto was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. In S2 it is revealed that she has received some rather advanced medical training from her sister, a doctor in Epping. In S4 she dies alongside other members of the squad after delaying the enemy.
Saturnino Aureliusz (S1-S4): Officer Cadet Aureliusz was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. Early on in S1 it is revealed that she is related to a famous politician in the country and had the option to defer her conscription. Like the other characters she dies alongside other members of her squad.
Tymon Jerzy (S1-S2) Officer Cadet Jerzy was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. Jerzy comes from a family of farmers and constantly makes references to living on the farm, to the dismay of others. In Season Two he dies after being critically injured during an artillery strike.
Tytus Cirino (S1-S3) Officer Cadet Cirino was a member of the 2nd Northern Training Regiment. In S2 it is revealed that Cirino wants to become a professional actor but deferred his admittance into Epping Arts Academy to serve in the military. In Season Three he dies after jumping on a grenade.
1st Assault Regiment: Description
Oliver Pankraz (S1-S4) Junior Colonel Pankraz was in charge of the 1st Assault Regiment between 1964 and 1968 and serves as the main villain for the series. In Season 4 he is killed by Officer Cadet Albina following a lengthy battle.
Maria Leonhard (S1-S3) Captain Leonhard was a senior member of the 1st Assault Regiment and was often responsible for planning successful offensive and defensive operations during the battle. In S3 Leonhard is arrested and executed for treason after she refuses to lead an attack against a field hospital.
Elise Konstanze (S1-S3) Sub-Lieutenant Konstanze was a member of the 1st Assault Regiment, a rather soft spoken individual she serves as the regiment's main battlefield medic and is often seen fixing wounds in the heat of battle. In Season 2 she is almost executed for treason after she is accused of treating enemy combatants, but her father's political connections save her. After witnessing the aftermath of the ambush in Season 3 Konstanze suffers a mental breakdown and is smuggled to Epping to receive treatment.
Hannes Gert (S1-S2) Soldato Gert was a member of the 1st Assault Regiment. In between fighting he constantly complains about the lack of decent food and several times shares his plan to open up a restaurant once the war is over. In Season 2 he is killed during an offensive operation.
Ignatz Gotthilf (S1-S1) Soldato Gotthilf was a member of the 1st Assault Regiment, and a gifted infiltrator. At the end of S1 he is killed after failing to assassinate Officer Cadet Albina
Julian Eckart (S1-S4) Soldato Eckart was a member of the 1st Assault Regiment, and is partly responsible for carrying out some of the most brutal attacks during the war including the ambush against the refugee column in 1967. In Season 4 he is killed by elements of the 2nd Training Regiment while attempting to flee the city.

Reception

When Pakosc: Total War was released it immediately became the most popular TV series in the country, praised for its gritty realism and occassional humour the series maintained its popularity throughout its entire run. Since 2013 the series has also gained noteriety online with several online communities dedicated to created fanart, fanfiction and cosplaying as various characters and factions from the show.

In New Dornalia, the show is, like that other famous import "Adventurer High," a cult hit which airs on HTB on Monday nights. Critics have noted it is a "fresh, gritty antidote to the usual combat shows," and no less than Henrietta Collins herself, heroine of the Civil War and author of the best-selling memoir "There Are Many Battles," has said of the show: "I don't usually watch war movies. I've lived war, and it's not as fun as the shows would tell you. This show got it right." There is also a licensed comic book adaptation done by notoriously reclusive and anti-superheroic writer Alasdair Lynch and illustrator Tsukiko Shirabayashi which is also popular.
