TO BE REDONE
Cascadia, officially the Cascadian Republic, is a sovereign country in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. The Columbia River and the Cascades, the latter of which the country draws its name, cut through Cascadia and are major geographical features of the country. With an estimated population of 91,292,474, and a huge landmass spanning across all of the Pacific Northwest and much of the rest of the West Coast, the country is a major player in the North American region. The nation's climate is generally that of an oceanic climate along the coast, while an alpine climate dominates the mountainous areas.
A founding and influential member of the North American League, Cascadia is often considered a middle power in geopolitical terms. The country is a confederal parliamentary republic with strong aspects of direct democracy and strong leftist and localist influences. The current Co-Chancellors of the Confederacy are Kshama Sawant and Aaron Peskin.
