The Assaut d'Infanterie de Niveau Arme (English: Infantry Level Assault Weapon) also known as AINA is a man-portable, squad level assault weapon designed to engage fortifications, exposed infantry, buildings, and also has a secondary anti-armor function. It replaced the older LRAC F1 recoilless rifles in service and supplemented the AT4 (Known in the Sieuxerrian Armed Forces as the ABL).

Description

The basic, unloaded weapon consists of the launching tube, forward hand grip, trigger grip, and should rest. The weapon is fitted with iron sights able to engage targets to 300 meters, however these are not typically used, instead the M/35 optic being used. The M/35 optic is a 3.8 zoom optic which has a laser range finder and wind finding system to aid the crew in accurate firing. A standard crew consists of 2 men, a weapon operator with the launcher, loaded round, and an additional two round carrier and an ammunition bearer/assistant gunner with an additional three rounds of ammunition and a rifle.

Ammunition

Ammo for the AINA is prepackaged. Certain munitions have different fuze settings to allow for different types of engagement. The loader uses the M88 Fuze Setting Tool to proper fuze the ammo. Most ammo variants have a second version designed for confined space launching and also a training munition which mimics the ballistic bath of the warheads.

  • M101 HE: High-explosive ammunition with impact or delay settings. Used in demolition and anti-infantry work.
  • M107 HEDP: Multi-purpose high-explosive munition used typically to engage concrete bunkers or other fortification. Has a fuze setting for impact or a tenth of a second delay detonation. Has a limited anti-vehicle role and can penetration upwards of 200mm of RHA.
  • M110 ILLUM: Illumination round. Has a parachute in the rear of the round. Lights up a 500 meter area for 30 seconds.
  • M115 HEAT: Older HEAT variant with 500mm of RHA penetration. Not commonly used. Does not for a confined space launch variant.
  • M116 THEAT: Tandem HEAT warhead variant of the M115. Has upwards of 650mm of RHA penetration after ERA effects.
  • M117 THERMO: Thermobaric warhead designed to engage infantry forces. Has same fuze settings as HEDP.
