He began his political career as a State senator of the [[United Party of Delamaria|United Party]] in Radnor in 1982, then becoming Lieutenant-Governor and later Governor in 1996. As governor of Radnor Monroe was a leading supporter of revitalisation of infrastructure, gay and womens rights, and education reform, this popular cause lead him to be chosen as then senator Herbert Walker-Busch's running mate in the [[2008 Delamarian Election]], in which they won a resounding 68% of the vote.
