Sharifistani firearms law

The Firearms Edict of 1922 states that a "A sane adult Muslim citizen has the legal right to own and keep arms for the defence of their homes and families subject unless prohibited by a Qadi (judge) due to a conviction for a crime", This legal right is subject to regulation under the Firearms Law of 1929.

Overview

Currently ownership of firearms by Sharifistani citizens is classified as a "right" whilst ownership by tourists or expatriates is considered a "privilege". Licenses are required stating the type of gun and the reason for owning it (legal reasons including self-defence, collection, sport and licensed hunting). Concealed guns are illegal for private citizens (except for security guards and private detectives)

Requirements for ownership

Must be over 18 (or 16 if married), have a license from a police officer ranked Inspector or above or a Judge, 

pass a psychological evaluation and not be prohibited from owning one by a Judge.

Citizens of the following countries are banned from carrying or possessing firearms:

Russia (since 1950)

Myanmar (since the Burmese genocide against the Rohingya)

New Antarticania

Polish-Prussian Commonwealth

Democratic Exodian Territories
